Membership
The organization was founded on 1 May 2009 and operates as an NGO from its headquarters at 6 Cuyler Street, Central, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The Founding trustees of ECCWEDA are Mr. Mcebisi Michael Msizi, Mr. Mark Scheepers, Ms Zanele Mabandla, Mr. Tony Duba, and Mr. Tony Nonkonyana. The organization is currently chaired by Mr. Mcebisi Michael Msizi with Mr. Mark Scheepers acting as General Secretary.
ECCWEDA members will benefit from a multitude of activities undertaken by the association, including but not limited to the lobbying of various stakeholders and communities, news articles and public relations efforts as well as being integral in determining the national framework that govern the industry.
ECCWEDA welcomes members from all spheres of the energy industry and will soon be holding a general election for two executive positions that are available on the board, namely President and Vice President for the year 2009/2010.
