New wind energy project - over 2 years ago

AFRICAN Energy Developments is planning to establish a wind energy facility and associated infrastructure near Middelburg in the Eastern Cape.

The facility will be within an area of about 70ha and will include up to 100 wind turbines, two sub-stations, access roads and 132kV power lines linking to the Ludlow sub-station.

The project has been registered with the Water and Environmental Affairs Department and an EIA is under way. – Business Reporter, 2009/09/29
